Who you are dealing with

Alligator Design is the trading name of Geert Valère Allegaert, a one-person business. There is no team, no agency and no answering service: the person who designs your website is the person who builds it, hosts the conversation about it and answers the email afterwards.

Everything on this site — the design, the code, the texts and the drawings — is his own work, unless it says otherwise.

The details

Email is the way in. There is no phone number on this site on purpose: written questions get better answers, and they leave a record we can both read back. Invoices carry the full address; it is left off this page to keep the spam away.

How the work is agreed

Every project starts with a written proposal: what will be made, what it costs, and when. Work begins once that proposal is accepted by email and a deposit of 60% has reached my bank account. The remaining 40% is invoiced on delivery. Invoices are in euro and payable within fourteen days.

When a website is finished and paid for, it is yours: the domain, the hosting account and the files are in your name, and you can walk away with them at any time without asking anyone’s permission. That is the whole point of the offer.

This website

Built with WordPress on a hand-made theme, without plugins, page builders, tracking scripts or advertising. It is hosted in Europe. What happens with the little data it does collect is described on the privacy page, and what it does to stay usable for everyone on the accessibility page.

Links to other websites are there because they are worth reading. What happens on them is not mine to answer for.
